Domestic semiconductor substrate-related stocks showed sharply mixed movements in the afternoon session on the 19th. Taesung led the gainers with a surge of more than 10%, while some stocks such as Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Isu Petasys declined.

■ Gainers... Taesung Jumps 10.02%, LG Innotek Up 2.71%

As of 1:25 p.m. on the 19th, Taesung was trading at 58,200 won, up 10.02% from the previous trading day, marking a relatively steep gain among major semiconductor substrate-related stocks tallied that day.

LG Innotek also showed strength, trading 2.71% higher at 417,500 won. Intelplus was up 1.04% at 58,300 won, and DwonNextview rose 0.34% to 11,740 won.

■ Decliners... Samsung Electro-Mechanics Down 2.44%, Isu Petasys Off 2.31%

There were also plenty of decliners. Samsung Electro-Mechanics traded 2.44% lower at 1,159,000 won, and Isu Petasys fell 2.31% to 97,100 won.

Dae Duck Electronics was down 1.29% at 130,000 won, and Korea Circuit fell 1.85% to 63,600 won. Simmtech declined 1.18% to 125,100 won, TLB dropped 0.51% to 38,950 won, and Simmtech Holdings slid 2.59% to 3,760 won.

■ Why the Divergence and Key Points to Watch in the Afternoon Session

Although semiconductor substrate-related stocks are grouped within the same industry, their share prices moved in clearly different directions on the day. In contrast to Taesung's double-digit gain, a considerable number of major stocks remained in negative territory.

The semiconductor substrate industry is drawing attention in line with the growth of the AI server, high-performance semiconductor, and advanced packaging markets. However, as each company differs in its flagship products, customers, and business structure, individual stock price movements can also diverge.

In a market where stocks show mixed gains and losses, it is necessary to watch not only overall industry trends but also supply and demand for individual companies and changes in investor sentiment.

In the latter half of the afternoon session, the focus will be on whether Taesung can maintain its double-digit gain and whether declining stocks such as Samsung Electronics and Isu Petasys can narrow their losses.
