The KOSPI ended the regular session higher on the 4th, ahead of the weekend. The index closed at 6,687.21, up 107.73 points (1.64%) from the previous trading day. While top stocks by market capitalization were mixed, some large-cap technology stocks showed strength, with SK Square rising more than 6% among the top 10 by market cap.

■ Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and SK Square Lead Tech Stock Gains

Samsung Electronics closed the regular session at 255,500 won, up 5,500 won (2.20%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix finished at 1,647,000 won, up 51,000 won (3.20%).

Samsung Electronics Preferred closed at 191,600 won, up 7,500 won (4.07%), while Samsung Electro-Mechanics ended trading at 1,401,000 won, up 53,000 won (3.93%).

In particular, SK Square closed at 1,041,000 won, surging 60,000 won (6.12%), marking the highest gain among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization.

■ LG Energy Solution, KB Financial, and Others Decline

In contrast, LG Energy Solution closed at 358,500 won, down 7,000 won (1.92%). Samsung Biologics finished at 1,447,000 won, down 2.03%, while KB Financial ended at 172,000 won, down 3.32%. Samsung C&T also closed at 367,000 won, down 1.34%. Hyundai Motor finished flat at 383,500 won.

With the KOSPI recovering the 6,600 level and expanding its gains to close out the week, attention is focused on whether the upward trend centered on large-cap technology stocks will continue after the weekend.
